Vegetable Kebabs with Lemon Herb Basting Sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
2 teaspoons dried thyme
1/4 cup lemon juice
4 12-inch bamboo skewerss soaked in water for 15 minutes
2 zucchini cut into 2-inch cubes
2 yellow squash peeled and cut into 2-inch cubes
1.5 cups cherry tomatoes
5 ounces whole button mushrooms
1 white onion cut into thick chunks
2 Anaheim chiles seeded and cut into 2-inch pieces
Preheat grill pan until hot or preheat grill to medium.
 In a small bowl, combine oil, garlic, thyme and lemon juice. Whisk well.
 Skewer zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, mushrooms, onion and chiles, alternating for a nice assortment.
 Using a pastry brush, lightly coat kabobs with the basting sauce. Add kabobs to the pan and grill for 3 minutes, basting frequently. Turn and cook for 3 minutes more. Serve immediately. *Feel free to vary the vegetable selections according to your family's tastes.

 In a large saucepan, bring milk, water, and cornmeal to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer until thick, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes.
